The Messenger Oracle for the week of April 13 - 19, 2013

The Messenger Oracle is a beautiful deck created by Ravynne Phelan. One thing is certain, this Oracle can inspire the magic within all of us. The deck has 50 gorgeous cards and comes with a 75 page guide book that includes Ravynne's amazing story of how she made a decision to become an artist in the year 2000 instead of believing those who told her it would never be possible! The guide book also has 3 layouts for readings:

Here is the weekly reading I did on my YouTube channel using the Messenger Oracle

 The Angel Tarot Cards are my deck of choice for the Thurs - Sun reading. This deck was created by Doreen Virtue, Radleigh Valentine and Steve A. Roberts. Doreen Virtue claims that this deck was created to be the first tarot to be 100%  gentle, positive, safe and trustworthy!
So, as long as you are not frightened by angels, friendly dragons, unicorns, mermaids and fairies, you should be safe and sound while using this deck. I personally have never been attacked by any of my other tarot decks so I guess my life must be very boring. I think the gentle, positive, safe and trustworthiness has more to do with the person reading the cards and not so much the cards themselves. After all, tarot is like a mirror.
 The deck itself is very nice and sturdy.  It comes with a 135 page guidebook. I enjoyed the use of color that Steve Roberts used in his detailed illustrations. If you or someone you know loves fantasy art, pick up this deck!
Even with all the changes that were made, those who like traditional tarot decks might be pleasantly surprised by this deck. I am even going to suggest that those who are not into angels, unicorns, fairies, mermaids and dragons can still rock this deck.

March25 - 29, 2013 Oracle Reading

The Earth Magic Oracle Cards by Steven Farmer was my deck of choice for the weekly reading.
The 48 card deck has many beautiful illustrations created by various artists giving each card a special energy   to focus on. There is a 170 page guidebook that gives practical guidance on how to use the oracle along with some sample layouts. There is a general meaning written for each card. Steven encourages us to tune into our  physical feelings and inner visions to give more clarity to the readings. Also, the many illustrators are listed in the back of the book with websites for those who might enjoy viewing their art.
I like the Cross layout that is outlined in the book for insight into influences and resolution of any situation. This oracle is great as a stand alone or complimentary deck. I have noticed it is well received by those who do not normally use oracles.

Self Care & Grace Cards: March 18 weekly reading

The Self Care and Grace cards by Cheryl Richardson were the decks of choice for the weekly reading.

 There are around 50 cards in each deck. Each card has unique art and  an inspirational message on the back.  The decks are very beautiful and have uplifting themes. I think these  decks would make a nice gift to friends who do not read tarot or oracle decks.

The Enchanted Tarot is the deck I chose to use for my Romantic Soulmate reading. This tarot deck is wonderful for detailed information since every card is unique.

The Enchanted Tarot by Amy Zerner and Monte Farber includes Amy's beautiful collage art. The set comes with a 192 page book that includes guidance for preparing for readings and basic card layouts. Each card includes an enchantment and interpretation.
The Tarot Discovery Kit includes a bag for your deck, a guidebook and a DVD of animated presentations of the cards.

The Lover's Path Tarot  by Kris Waldherr is another beautiful deck I would highly recommend for romantic readings.

The Enchanted Map Oracle Cards

The Enchanted Map Oracle Cards by  author Colette Baron-Reid and artist Jena DellaGrottaglia is taking us on a fantastic journey for our weekly reading! This is a delightful oracle deck that will inspire you with beautiful imagery and insightful messages about creating your own personal life map. The oracle comes in a very sturdy box and includes 54 cards with a 157 page guidebook that details the meaning of each card.

Colette also has created a personal journey workbook that compliments this oracle deck: The Map: Finding the Magic and Meaning in the Story of Your Life if you would like to go deeper into The Enchanted Map experience. This is a wonderful stand alone deck or compliment deck for clarifying readings. I think that anyone who enjoys using decks for creative writing would also enjoy The Enchanted Map.

Blue Angel Oracle

The Blue Angel Oracle is the inspirational deck that I decided to use as a compliment to our tarot reading for the week. This deck was written by Australian artist, Toni Carmine Salerno. The 45 card deck is very vibrant with angel art created by Toni and 15 cards with art created by Belgium artist Walter Bruneel. 

This oracle is good to use as a stand alone or as a compliment to other decks. I have even split the deck into 2 separate decks: Cosmic and Angelic.The 75 page guidebook has inspirational insights for each card and has the following card spreads:

• Two Ways
• Elemental Star
• One and Four card basic spreads
